     May 7, 1952 to October 9, 2017

 

James Henry Armstrong, 65 years young, of Brighton Colorado, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, October 9, 2017.

 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 19th 2017 at 1:15pm at the Ft. Logan National Cemetery (Shelter C) in Denver Colorado. There will be a graveside memorial service with military

honors. All friends and family are welcome to attend.

 

James was born in Fort Ord California, to Daniel Armstrong and Lillian (Bleau) Armstrong, on May 7, 1952. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1970, and after graduating from Alisal High School in 1971, he commenced his service where he served on multiple ships including the USS Holland and the USS LY Spear. After 23 years of service, including the Persian Gulf War, he retired from the US Navy as Machinist Mate First Class Petty Officer and was awarded numerous medals and certificates. His service enabled he and his family to travel and live in various places including several states and Guam for 4 years.

In 1993, James moved to Colorado to begin his civilian life working for United Airlines as a Ramp service agent. After 19 years he retired in 2012.

James enjoyed many activities, including; riding his motorcycle, bowling, golfing, scuba diving and TV-Remote surfing. He also loved fresh popped popcorn!

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a great role model.

James is preceded in Death by his Father Daniel Armstrong and Mother Lillian (Bleau) Armstrong. His sons, Daniel, James and Thomas Armstrong- Born and Died July 22, 1993.  His sister, Cynthia L. (Armstrong) Ray, died April 17, 2012. His Mother-in-law Betty S. Oliver, died May 17, 2015.

James is survived by his wife of 32 years, Donya (Siars) Armstrong. His daughter, Jerrica and Son-in Law Duke Marion Grandchildren: Aiden Henry -13years, Duke Austin-7years, Ansley Taylor- 5years of Thornton Colorado. Kimberly Armstrong Grandchild: Jakob Lee- 9years of Thornton Colorado.  His sons; James Armstrong Jr. Grandchildren: Faith Nicole- 9years and Zane Robert- 4years of Pocatello Idaho, and Jonathon Armstrong- information unknown. His 2 brothers; Dana Armstrong of Illinois and Daniel Armstrong of Ireland. His sister Pat Hannan of Idaho.

All Arrangements are being done by Erlinger Funeral Home in Ft. Lupton Colorado and the Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver Colorado.
