Jesse May Gypin

November 17, 1931 ~ October 25, 2017 (age 85)

Jesse May Gypin Jr of Lafayette passed away Wednesday, October 25th in his home surrounded by family.  Jesse was born in San Antonio, Texas to Jesse M. and Clara Gypin on November 17, 1931. He was raised in Texas, Arizona and Colorado.

  
Jesse loved horses, ranching with his dad, hunting, fishing and traveling in his motorhome.  Jesse met the love of him life, Betty Baty in Louisville when he was 20 years old through a mutual friend. They were married five months later. He and Betty celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on May 29th. Jess was a Korean War Veteran and served in the army for 12 years.  He was stationed in the Phillipines during the war.  In peacetime he and his family lived in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Colorado, and France.  He worked on army vehicles during his tenure.  He also worked for Ideal Cement for many years prior to retiring.


He is survived by his wife Betty Gypin, three sons, Rodney D. Gypin, Charles M. Gypin (Sharon), and Jesse M. Gypin III (Cheri).  He is also survived by his younger brother Nate Gypin of Washington, and four granchildren, Corey M. Gypin, Christian T. Gypin (Heather), Matthew Gypin and Lindsay Brennan.
Viewing will be held at Avalon Erlinger in Lafayette, Monday, October 30 from 4pm-7pm and Funeral Services will be held Tuesday October 31, 2017 at 10 am in same location.  Burial will be at Mountain View Memorial Park in Boulder, Colorado.
