William Jan Horton Jr. passed away at his home in Fort Lupton, Colorado on Wednesday June 21, 2017.

Memorial services will be at Erlinger Funeral Home on Thursday, June 29th at 10am with viewing at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 28th from 3-7pm. Military services and burial will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Friday, June 30th at 9am.

William Jan Horton Jr. was born April 11, 1960 in Beacon, New York to William and Carol Horton. He lived in Hopewell Junction, New York until the age of 6 when the family moved to Boulder, Colorado. William was involved in 4-H clubs and Boy Scouts as a young man. 

Bill joined the Marines in 1978 and served until 1994. He was very proud of his time in the services. He graduated from the University of South Caroline with a BA in Economics. He also attended Clemson University. Most of his career was working as an Economic Analyst. He also had a variety of jobs in other fields. He retired in 2014 from ICF International.

Bill is survived by his wife, Danelle Horton. Also survived by 4 children Daughter, Amanda Barker(Derrick), Will Horton III, Scott Wilkinson, and Daughter Stephanie Ann Kuklish, along with 6 stepchildren, 13 grandkids. Brother, Scott Horton (Amanda). Father William Horton Sr(Janet). Mother, Carol Horton and 2 nieces and 1 nephew. 

He was a fun-loving man with a complicated soul but would do just about anything for others. In a letter he wrote awhile back when telling what he wanted as a final farewell he stated: "I love you all very much and will see you when we meet with Jesus, Please know Christ as the only way to heaven and how awesome of a friend he has been to me over the past years, seek him out and you will find him. And I will be waiting for you all........"
