Marjorie Gordon (Lewis) Fremaux

March 12, 1922 ~ December 29, 2018 (age 96)

Marjorie Gordon Lewis Fremaux, a native of St. Louis, MO and resident of New Orleans, LA Mobile, AL, and Spanish Fort, AL was born March 12, 1922 in St. Louis, MO and died December 29, 2018. She lived the last 16 months of her life in Louisville, Colorado to be near family. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Oliver Lewis and Blanche Copelen Bush Lewis; grandmother, Anna Marie Linder Bush; brother, Trevor Christie Lewis; and her husband of 67 years, Lloyd James Fremaux. She is survived by a son,Gordon James Fremaux  (wife Christina Reynolds) of New York City; a daughter, Christie Lewis (Meg) Fremaux (husband Robert Leon Skutelsky) and two Grandchildren, Abby Megan Fremaux  and Lily Marie Fremaux.   Marjorie graduated with a Fine Arts Degree from Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans in 1943. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. After graduation, she was affiliated with the American Women's Volunteer Service in World War II. She was a member of the Daughters of American revolution, the P.E.O. Sisterhood, and an assistant  Stephen Ministry teacher at Dauphin Way United Methodist Church. In Mobile, she was a member of several civic organizations and mystic society. She volunteered for many years at Providence Hospital. She was an avid bridge player, quilter, animal lover and travelled extensively throughout the U.S.A, Canada, Europe and the Far East. She will be missed by her family and friends. Her family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to Westminster Village in Spanish Fort, AL where she lived happily for 14 years with her husband Lloyd, and to Balfour Retirement Community and TruCare Hospice Colorado for their kindness and service during her last days. A memorial service will be held at Westminster Village spring of 2019 with  Deborah Bishop  officiating. date and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to a charity of your choice. Arrangements by Erlinger Funeral Home and cremation Service, Lafayette, Colorado.
