Peggy Ann Marlow-Sugihara

April 7, 1948 ~ April 29, 2018 (age 70)

Peggy Ann Marlow-Sugihara, a gifted, kind and inspiring presence in the world, passed away at home in her sleep April 29, 2018.  She was 70.


Peggy had many passions in her life. She was an aspiring novelist and had her first novel underway. She enjoyed genealogical research and was secretary for the ancestral Carruthers Clan. She excelled at flower arranging and cake decorating. She once dreamed of being an architect and would end up renovating and flipping houses.


Peggy was born on April 7, 1948, in Union City, Ind., to her parents Gerald Eugene Marlow and Leona Mae Marlow. She would later move to Colorado and attend Front Range Community College. Peggy’s job experiences included working at Western Electric/AT&T and Lucent Technologies. Most recently, she was a valued employee at United Power in Brighton, Colo. In addition, for years she and her beloved husband, Tom Sugihara, Jr., ran a successful greyhound racing business on their Fort Lupton farm.


Peggy is survived by Tom and her two stepdaughters, Lauren Sugihara and Patricia Sugihara; her beloved grandson, Jacoby Sugihara-Daniels, and step grandsons Carter and Gabe Daniels; her sisters, Susan Marlow-Nickols, Nancy Marlow-Hellem and Janet Marlow-Utt; and her brothers, William George Marlow and David Eugene Marlow and their families.


Peggy, who died of a sudden heart attack, joins her beloved son, Gary Duran, in heaven.


Peggy’s memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2018, at The Crossings Church of the Nazarene, 3501 W. 104th Ave., Westminster, Colo. A reception will follow the service downstairs.
